REALTOR® of Distinction: Jim West

It was 30 years ago that Jim retired from the United States Air Force and became a REALTOR®. The discipline he learned in the service clearly carries into his business, Premier Properties of Charleston, as he explains, “I work with the intensity that many people might not expect from a REALTOR®. I work very hard at my job, expect different challenges every day and readily respond to them.”

He also brings to the table something that sets him above many others in the business: wisdom. With decades of experience, Jim offers the required expertise that both new and seasoned homebuyers and home sellers need. He is an expert at new construction, providing lots to builders and homebuyers searching for the most marketable locations.

After being in management for numerous years, Jim formed a partnership with John Vance in 2002. With hard work and persistence, their team went on to be the top two agents in Coldwell Banker Meeks in 2002 and 2003 and the top team in Summerville.

Visit AtlanticCoastline.com Jim’s professional history and awards are notable. He was the regional sales manager for Galloway Homes for 13 years, was a Top Producer for Coldwell Banker Meeks the past two years with his current partner, John Vance, and was in the prestigious Executive’s Circle and President’s Elite Club, meaning that he was in the top producing 3 percent of REALTORS® in the nation.

Jim is Broker-In-Charge in the newly formed progressive company, Premier Properties of Charleston. His business was responsible for successfully converting Rivers Point on James Island from a rental complex to a condominium town home community.

He is also getting ready to help open a “new home” community in Spring Grove Plantation, with Ashley Turner Homes, one of North Carolina’s premier builders. This community is located between Goose Creek and Moncks Corner.

When asked what drives him to be a renowned REALTOR® in the Charleston area, Jim answered simply, “A home is the biggest investment people make in their lives. There is a joy in filling that need for people, especially first-time homebuyers.”

Jim and his wife, Jeri, have four grown children, and have kept active at Seacoast Community Church for the past 15 years. When relaxing, Jim can be found fishing at Lake Moultrie or gardening.
